The opportunity to move to Milan brought back childhood memories for Olivier Giroud.
The Frenchman officially announced his departure from Chelsea on Saturday for a two-year deal with the Serie A giants.
Now the veteran striker has plans to win trophies with the Rossoneri himself.
“I still feel like a little kid, 35 – or almost 35 – years old,” Giroud told Milan TV. “When I was young, I went to Jean-Pierre Papin, Andriy Shevchenko and of course Paolo. looked up [Maldini].
“This team made me dream. I was also a big fan of Marco van Basten. So many great players have played in this huge club in Europe.
“Milan has a great history in Europe and that’s why I wanted to join the club.
“To play in the best competition in Europe, the Champions League, and I hope that we can achieve great things with the team.”

Milan return to the Champions League for the first time since 2013/14 this season.
Only Real Madrid (13) have won more European titles than Milan’s seven, but the Rossoneri have not triumphed in the competition since 2007.
After winning the Champions League and Europa League with Chelsea over a period of three years, Giroud would like to have the same experience in Milan.
“I feel blessed to have the opportunity to win trophies and play for big clubs,” said Giroud.
“I think Milan are a club that deserve to play at the highest level.”
Giroud is not only helping the team return to stardom, but is particularly looking forward to playing alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“I think he’s a role model for the youngsters, he’s one of the best Serie A strikers and I’m looking forward to playing by his side,” said Giroud. “I think we’re going to have fun!”
“I just want to win something with Milan, and it’s even better with Zlatan, you know.”
