PICTURE report today that Bayer Leverkusen are showing a specific interest in signing 27-year-old central defender Matthias Ginter from Borussia Mönchengladbach after missing Kristoffer Ajer.
Leverkusen had basically agreed on a contract with Ajer, but could not come to an agreement with Celtic with only one year remaining.
The Bundesliga team therefore focuses on Gladbach’s defender Ginter, who only has a 12-month contract and has to agree to an extension. According to the report, an amount of 15 to 20 million euros should be enough to induce Die Fohlen to sell.
A central defender remains Bayer Leverkusen’s top priority after injuries to Edmond Tapsoba and Tin Jedvaj, who are expected to join Lokomotiv Moscow.
