Remembering the splendor of Aimar and Villa in Valencia

Pablo Aimar and David Villa are two of the most revered names in modern Valencia history. The offensive stars made a big impression during their successful missions at Mestalla.

Valencia is one of the proudest football clubs in Spain and has been home to some great talent over the years. The six-time La Liga champions have celebrated some of their greatest hits since the turn of the century.

Aimar was the winking Argentine playmaker who shone for the team in the early 2000s, the creative focus of Rafael Benitez’s 2002 and 2004 title winners, whose latest success came with a UEFA Cup triumph.

Villa was signed by league rivals Real Zaragoza and had a productive time Come on Che, scored 129 goals in just 225 games before winning at Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Villa also led Spain’s golden generation of talent to long-awaited international success, winning three major tournaments in a row La Roja and scored a record 59 goals for the team.
