Leeds United are considering a summer move for Wolves star Adama Traore to join Marcelo Bielsa’s squad ahead of the new season in the Prmeier League.
What’s the matter?
It was suspected late last year that the Whites were interested in luring the Spanish winger away from Molineux, but no deal was struck by the end of the January transfer window.
90min have now revealed that Bielsa’s side are considering making a move for the 25-year-old this time around, with Wolves now ready to listen to offers for the fast-paced winger.
Would Traore be a good new addition?
The report added: “Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been keeping a close eye on Traore but Leeds is currently at the top of the queue.
“Traore’s relationship with Orta, who brought him back to Villa from a miserable time to take him to Boro, and his desire to work with Marcelo Bielsa could very well work the deal in their favor.”
The Spaniard’s sheer pace of £ 100,000 a week could give Leeds a different dimension than the tricks and skills that someone like Raphinha offers. As a player either from the bench or from the start, Traore could be a unique game changer for the Whites – his average of 4.1 dribbles per game in the Premier League last season was the highest in the league.
Former Leeds player David Norris approved of a potential winger move, telling exclusively to Football FanCast: “He (Bielsa) likes offensive, exciting players who can create. You still have to work hard, but just like he has been for the past couple of seasons and how dangerous he is and how much he has created that would be a great commitment. Leeds are looking for top players and I think he’s a top player.
90min also claimed that “Bielsa is a huge fan of the Spanish international and has believed for some time that he could thrive in his Elland Road system.”
If a deal can be struck between the two clubs, the Leeds manager will no doubt pick up a player he has been chasing “for a while”.
In the meantime, Phil Hay has released an exciting update for Leeds United …
