Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet could join Tottenham this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Lenglet came to Barcelona from Seville three years ago, but could be on his way out of the club in the coming weeks if the Spanish outlet sport is to be believed.
They say Barcelona are trying to send a number of players this summer and will let Lenglet go if they get a good enough offer.
And the front page of the newspaper on Monday morning said Spurs and Arsenal were potential targets for the French center-back.
Spurs are in dire need of new center-backs and are currently linked (via The Athletic) with Bologna’s 22-year-old star Takehiro Tomiyasu, who can also play as a right-back.
At 26, Lenglet is a little more experienced than Tomisayu – but that doesn’t mean he’s a better alternative.
In fact, Tottenham could sign both players, especially if they let one of the current center-backs go.
Whether Lenglet is the high-profile center-back who will change Spurs’ defensive fortune is up for debate, but it looks promising that the Londoners are targeting an established name.
