The club confirms 25 Newcastle United players are training but 9 will miss Doncaster and 1 doubtful

There has been an official update in which Newcastle United players will face Doncaster Rovers.

The game starts on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The club (NUFC) publishes a training gallery with pictures showing 25 Newcastle United players going through the paces ahead of the next first-team friendly.

These were the 25 exhibited:

These 17 first team members: Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett, Federico Fernandez, Ryan Fraser, Dwight Gayle, Isaac Hayden, Jeff Hendrick, Jamaal Lascelles, Jamal Lewis, Matty Longstaff, Sean Longstaff, Javier Manquillo, Jacob Murphy, Yoshinori Muto, Matt Ritchie, Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson

Another Joelinton first-team squad is in doubt after being substituted off with a hamstring strain in York in the first half, trained today but under investigation shortly before kick-off on Friday night.

Younger players aged 25 and under who have trained with the first team: Kelland Watts, Dan Langley, Max Thompson, Will Brown, Tom Allan, Oisín McEntee and Jack Young

Definitely excluded:

Karl Darlow – Currently in isolation for ten days after testing positive for Covid.

Mark Gillespie – self-isolation as close contact with Darlow.

Freddie Woodman – self-isolation as close contact with Darlow.

Jonjo Shelvey – calf injury and could miss the start of the season.

Martin Dubravka – After an operation for a metatarsal fracture, the start of the 2021/22 season will definitely be missed.

Miguel Almiron – Recovering from a hamstring injury and taking an extended break from his international commitments this summer.

Fabian Schar – After a long break after international commitments this summer.

Emil Krafth – After a long break after international commitments this summer.

Elliot Anderson – Had to rest for four weeks (The Mail) trying to shake off a hip injury.


We are now halfway through this transfer window, today (Wednesday, July 21) is day 43 of the 84-day transfer window, no signs of activity ahead.


On Wednesday afternoon, only 200 tickets were available for Doncaster, from the original 3,300 tickets for Newcastle fans. Excellent support and these tickets are sold by NUFC (online) until they sell out or on Thursday July 22nd at 1pm, whichever comes first. Tickets are not available to Newcastle fans on the day of the match.
