Evening Standard reporter Jack Rosser believes Wilfried Zaha will be frustrated in his efforts to leave Crystal Palace.
Zaha has told Palace that he would like to leave the club after enjoying another impressive season at Selhurst Park.
The Ivory Coast international scored 11 goals in 31 games last season and this is not the first time Zaha has wanted to leave Palace.
Will Zaha still be at the Palace at the end of the transfer window?
Zaha also announced his intentions to leave in the summer of 2019 and 2020, but there has been no change.
Everton didn’t agree on a transfer with Palace two years ago, while Arsenal are regularly linked with the 28-year-old.
Palace chairman Steve Parish has confirmed that Zaha will only be allowed to leave Selhurst Park this summer if the offer meets her expectations.
However, Rosser doesn’t think any applicants will come anywhere near Palace’s price tag for the former Manchester United man, who played 393 games and scored 68 goals for the club in two terms.
Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, he said: “There will always be clubs interested in him, but honestly none of them will ever rate Zaha as highly as Crystal Palace.
“Parish was pretty smart when he said we’d let him go if there was a good offer, but it will cost a lot of money to be a good offer in his eyes.
“There was no specific interest. The closest someone came to Everton in recent years.
