Eden Hazard was offered back to Chelsea by Real Madrid but a transfer to Stamford Bridge can be complicated for a number of reasons.
In two seasons for the club, the 30-year-old has only played 43 games and scored five goals, four of them last season.
Real Madrid will want to sell the Belgian winger for at least € 60m as he believes the € 100m transfer fee paid through a five-year deal will pay off to € 20m each summer to make up for their losses.
However, the Spanish giants know it is a tough deal as few are willing to take that fee and take on a player with injury issues.
In addition, it will require Hazard to cut his salary significantly as he earns more at Real Madrid than at Chelsea.
It has been reported that President Florentino Perez told club officials not to expect any more signings this season after losing Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane on his way out.
