The talented Englishman admits that the former Red Devils number 7 had a huge impact on the way he played.
Manchester United newcomer Jadon Sancho reveals that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the players he modeled his game after.
Sancho was officially introduced as a Manchester United player on Friday following his £ 73m (€ 85m) transfer Borussia Dortmund.
A sizable segment of the United fan base expects the club to present the 21-year-old winger with his iconic No. 7 shirt, once worn by the likes of George Best, Eric Cantona, Michael Owen, David Beckham and of course the living legend Ronaldo .
“I feel like everyone is different and I feel like I have different traits than any other player, but of course Cristiano Ronaldo and what he has done in his career is a fantastic thing,” Sancho told the official Man Utd website.
“Where he started at Sporting and then moved to Manchester, it’s always good to see that all of these iconic players have come through an iconic club.”
When asked to name some of the greats in the game he looked up to, Sancho replied, “Ronaldinho and obviously Wayne Rooney for England – these two are very iconic and great role models.”
