Andre Silva asked a bizarre question about Cristiano Ronaldo

A journalist asked Andre Silva a rather unusual question about Cristiano Ronaldo at his first press conference as a RB Leipzig player.

Andre Silva got more than he expected at his first press conference at RB Leipzig on Friday.

The Portuguese striker, who moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to the Bundesliga club with a € 23 million deal this summer, was officially introduced to the German media as a Leipzig player.

The reporters asked him the usual questions about how he was settling in, what moved him to Leipzig and what goals he had for the future. But one journalist went one step further – maybe a little too far.

“You know Cristiano from [Portugal] Changing room “, the reporter asked Silva, as quoted by TJ Sports USA.

“He’s a handsome guy. Do you want to be as good as him and get his muscles one day? And does it smell as good as it looks? “

A visibly amused Silva replied: “I only smelled his perfume!”

Then he added to his Portuguese team-mates: “Cristiano Ronaldo is above everything.

“He has done extraordinary things in his career and it is an achievement to be able to play by his side. What he has achieved is incredible.

“In the end everyone goes their own way and I’ll try to go mine. I’ll do my best and if I can be a little as successful as Ronaldo, that’s great.

“With or without his perfume!”

Of course, Silva has been compared to CR7 throughout his career, especially in its early days. Indeed, Ronaldo once named him as his successor 2017 in the Portuguese national team.

Things have not gone quite according to plan since then and Silva struggled to reach his potential at AC Milan and Sevilla. However, since the trip to Germany in 2019, things have improved. The 25-year-old has scored an impressive 40 goals in just 57 Bundesliga games in the last two seasons.

He even finished fourth in last season’s European Golden Shoe race and only two points behind third-placed Ronaldo.

Silva is now hoping to continue his good form in Germany by helping Leipzig claim Bayern Munich for the championship title next season.
