The transfer season always creates exciting excitement in the football community. Fans love the big players chasing their favorite clubs and are ultimately disappointed when the move fails. There are hundreds of different transfer rumors, but few of them really mean anything.
Signing star players is often compared as their parent club often remains adamant not to sell the player due to certain circumstances. FootTheBall brings you ‘Rumor Rater’, in which we rate the top 5 transfer rumors that have spread like wildfire on social media.
Manchester City haven’t really been in the transfer market yet as they are determined to bring Jack Grealish and Harry Kane to Etihad this summer. Jack Grealish has become a cult hero in England and is arguably one of the best players in the Premier League.
Aston Villa was aiming for a spot in the Europa League last season and they would likely have achieved it if Grealish hadn’t been unexpectedly injured in February that caused him to miss 12 games. Grealish is very versatile, which means that it fits easily into Guardiola’s system. Manchester City have yet to find a replacement for Leroy Sane and that is why Grealish is a really important target for Pep Guardiola.
Jack Grealish himself has yet to say anything about leaving his youth club, although a move to Manchester City could unleash Grealish’s true potential. The only problem for City is that Aston Villa has enough cash this summer to pursue its goals and so they are reluctant to let the player go. Grealish has four more years in his contract making this move very difficult for Manchester City.
According to many reports, City has offered the 25-year-old a very generous contract and Grealish is happy with the duration. Grealish are only interested in maintaining good relationships with Villa and will therefore not make any decisions until their club approves the transfer.

Manchester United conceded the most goals among the top four teams in the Premier League. A weak defense can cost them their title chances, which is why they need a strong central defender.
Raphael Varane has been part of Real Madrid for more than a decade and it is time for both the club and the player to move on. The 28-year-old is still at the top of his game and his pace and technique with the ball are perfect for United to partner with Harry Maguire behind them.
Varane’s contract is only running for a year and it looks like he won’t be extending his stint with Madrid. The Frenchman is said to cost around 60-70 million euros, which shouldn’t be a problem for Manchester United. However, if Manchester United delay the move, Varane will be concerned and likely sign an extension with Los Blancos.

ERLING HAALAND TO CHELSEA
Erling Haaland has been linked to many clubs across Europe but right now Chelsea looks like his most likely target only if Dortmund let the 21-year-old go. With 27 goals, Haaland was the second highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga last season.
Since Jadon Sacho moved to Manchester United, Dortmund have already let go of a star and they wouldn’t let go of Haaland that easily. The player has only played for 1 year at Dortmund and therefore still has 3 seasons in his contract. Dortmund can easily wait another year and still get good offers for the Norwegian.
Chelsea are reportedly preparing a whopping € 130million offer that could lure Dortmund, although Chelsea aren’t the only club in the running as Real Madrid are also ready to move all-in for Haaland. At the moment Madrid are in financial crisis, which is why they cannot outbid the London club. Now is the only chance for Chelsea to snap up Haaland with no competition but Dortmund are reluctant to let the player go.

Pogba signed a one-year extension last year that will keep him with the Red Devils until the end of this season. It is clear that Pogba is insecure at Manchester United and wants to find a way out. His agent, Mino Raiola, also has poor ties with United and is trying to find the best deals on Pogba’s exit. The Frenchman was phenomenal at Euro 2020, which generated a lot of interest across Europe.
PSG have decided to go all-in this month as Pochetinno is apparently on a shopping spree. The French giants have recently shown interest in the central midfielder but with Juventus already in the race for 2 years, Pogba would prefer to return to Italy. PSG supporters have shown their resentment to Paul Pogba by hanging large banners that read, “Pogba, you should listen to your mother. She doesn’t want you here, neither do we. “
PSG fans put this banner outside Parc des Princes in response to the Pogba rumors and it reads:
“Pogba, you should listen to your mother, she doesn’t want you here. We don’t either! “

PSG will have to pay around 50-60million for Pogba but after seeing the fans’ reaction, Paul Pogba would most likely stay away from France for a while.

LOCATELLI TO THE ARSENAL MANUAL
With Juventus close to finalizing the deal with Sassuolo, Arsenal aren’t even close to bringing Locatelli to the Premier League. Locatelli had a fruitful season last year. He had a passing accuracy of 87.5% and made an average of 8.24 progressive passes per 90. He has great defensive skills and can also start things from the central half of the pitch.
Arsenal are set to do a transfer overhaul this summer but targeting Locatelli wasn’t a good move by Arteta. Juventus and Sassuolo have reportedly signed a two-year loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the term. The 23-year-old would also prefer to play in Italy and grow more as a player before making big changes in his career. Arsenal might have had a chance if they had started talks a little earlier as now the chances of the Italian getting to the gunners are very slim.
