Lee Gregory is the Sheffield Wednesday signing who made the biggest impression on former Owls midfielder Carlton Palmer.
Wednesday brought a host of new recruits to the summer transfer window, including Gregory.
The 33-year-old forward came from Stoke City in early August and has managed to get started at his new club.
Did Gregory impress you?
Gregory has scored twice in four games in the first division to bring Darren Moore’s side to second place, two points behind Sunderland.
Exclusive talk with FFC of Gregory and the rest of Wednesday’s summer business, Palmer said:
“All of the signings he’s made have been good signings. He did really good business. I can’t praise what he did highly enough, but I think the boy is Lee Gregory’s most impressive.
“I think he scores in this league, he really does. If he gets the chance, he’ll do it. And I think the way Darren plays on Wednesday with the high intensity that he likes to play, he’ll get a lot of chances. He looks a very, very good player at this level. “
With signings like Gregory, Wednesday looks based on early signs of a promotion spurt.
If the Englishman can continue to make an impact while the rest of Wednesday’s new signings are also delivering, the Yorkshire clubs could have a really good season ahead of them which is exactly what they need after what has been an extremely disappointing 2020/21 season.
