Milan’s striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has once again insisted that he is in the same class as Ronaldo and Messi and that the duo “has nothing more than him” other than trophies.
The 39-year-old said in a conversation with French football before Milan’s game against Lazio and again reminded the world of his unshakable self-confidence.
When asked if he missed the Ballon d’Or as part of his career path, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United killer responds in his classic style.
“No, if anything, it’s the Ballon d’Or that I’m missing.”
“When we talk about intrinsic quality, they have nothing but me. If we look at trophies, yes, I didn’t win the Champions League.
“I don’t know what criteria they use to decide who gets the award because I’m not obsessed with it. When a collective works, the individual inevitably benefits. An individual cannot be good if the team is not solid.
“Deep down, I think I’m the best in the world.”
