Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged young strikers Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford to be “weird” for new signing Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, Ferdinand has denied all claims that the Portuguese captain could hinder their development.
“If I’m Rashford and Greenwood, I’m the happiest kids in the world right now,” he said Email online [Sportsmail].
“You have the opportunity to work with someone like Cristiano who you would never have thought possible, someone who is ambitious and ridiculous.
“I think they have to be like sponges, they have to be students. You have to watch him. I would be obsessed with him if I were a kid there.
“It doesn’t matter what position you play in, but if you’re a striker then you’re obsessed. I would watch him think “I’m a nut” because you just want to know and see what he’s doing to be the best and stay at the top for so many years.
He jokingly added, “I had Neil Ruddock. you receive Cristiano Ronaldo and I get Neil Ruddock! Unbelievable.
“Neil is a great guy, but they’re other professionals if you get what I mean.”
When asked about Ronaldo’s influence as a team-mate, Ferdinand said: “I had the feeling that as defenders we would always have a chance as long as we were clear because he would get a chance at some point in the game.” and he scores. We have always felt this way, we just had pure trust.
“You have the opportunity this season, with Ronaldo, with Greenwood, with Rashford, with [Edinson] Cavani, with Sancho, with [Bruno] Fernandes, with [Paul] Pogba. I unwound a ridiculous amount of names. But behind that, the other players have to do their job. “
The former defender also believes Ronaldo will score around 30 goals for United this season:
“People keep saying he’s not that, he’s not that – but he was the top scorer in Serie A last season. Everyone says he’s lost quality, but he’s still better than everyone else.
“I expect him to get closer to 25 to 30 goals this season, at least in all competitions. If he doesn’t turn 30 I’ll be surprised. “
