Donny van de Beek comes for Bruno Fernandes while Anthony Martial replaces Mason Greenwood.

A great long pass from David de Gea found Greenwood on the counter. The ball finally lands on the edge of the box in front of Fernandes’ feet and the Portuguese midfielder absolutely shoots it into the top corner. Game over, it seems. 3: 1 for the hosts.
75th Minute: Greenwood effort blocked on the line
Mason Greenwood managed to make room for a shot with a clean kick before triggering a shot on goal, but his shot was blocked by a defender on the line while the keeper was beaten.
66th Minute: Lingard replaces Sancho
Jadon Sancho, who was quite disappointing, has said goodbye and has been replaced by Jesse Lingard.
62nd Minute: CRISTIANO RONALDO scores AGAIN!
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second goal of the day, this time before the Stretford End, to put Manchester United in the lead again. Luke Shaw brought the ball forward into the Newcastle half, then passed through through to Ronaldo, who took a touch before firing a left-footed shot through Woodman’s legs. Javi Manquillo obviously didn’t read the script as he levels out at Old Trafford. Almiron picked Saint Maximin, who played a quick pass into Manquillo’s path, and then the right-back shot at David de Gea. Manchester United 1-1 Newcastle.
46th Minute: Second half is running
The second 45 minutes are now running, so let’s see if Cristiano Ronaldo can get back on the scorers list.
HALF-TIME: Manchester United 1-0 Newcastle
Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal at the end of the second half is enough to just close Manchester United into the break. Newcastle had defended well and frustrated the hosts, but the 36-year-old was in the right place at the right time to give Manchester United the lead.
45th minute + 2: GOAL FOR CRISTIANO RONALDO!
Just before half-time, Cristiano Ronaldo gave Manchester United the lead. Greenwood came in from the right and attempted a shot on goal that Woodman failed to collect, giving Cristiano Ronaldo a chance to score from a few yards away. One of the easiest goals he will ever score and his first for Manchester United since May 10, 2009. Manchester United 1-0 Newcastle.
39th Minute: Greenwood close
Bruno Fernandes’s cross from the right was almost hit by Mason Greenwood, but the Manchester United striker didn’t quite finish.
30.Minute: Newcastle frustrated Manchester United
Newcastle are growing into this game and have more possession even though Manchester United remain in control. However, they haven’t created many clear opportunities, if at all.
19.Minute: Varane almost hits
Luke Shaw’s corner from the left was deftly headed towards the goal by Raphael Varane, who saw his shot over the goal narrowly missed the goal. Very close.
15th Minute: Newcastle counterattack
Miguel Almiron pinched the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo and that allowed Allan Saint Maximin to start a counterattack, but enough Manchester United players returned to prevent Newcastle from causing damage.
10th minute: Ronaldo shoots into the side net
Cristiano Ronaldo turned away from Joe Willock and stepped over to get past Javi Manquillo before firing his shot into the side netting. That certainly knocked some Manchester United fans out of their seats.
8th minute: So far, slow start
Manchester United had a lot of possession here in the early stages but didn’t make much of it. You can already tell that the players are trying to pick Cristiano Ronaldo whenever they can.
