A top source from the Nigerian Football Association has assured that, despite reports about the bonus series, the Super Eagles will leave no stone unturned to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
It was reported in the media that after beating Liberia 2-0 at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, the players were unable to agree with the NFF to pay out their bonus in naira instead of dollars.
The players put their differences aside and beat Cape Verde 2-1 in the second qualifying round game to top Group C with six points.
With fears that the bonus series could affect the team if not cleared before the next round of games in October, a source at a football house said the issue will be resolved.
“This is not a serious problem, as some media reports after the game against Liberia. The NFF are at the forefront of the situation and I don’t think they will distract the players from Nigeria’s qualification for the World Cup.
