Shearer & Evra lead Ronaldo tributes as the football world welcomes “real GOAT”

There was no way Cristiano Ronaldo would let his return home go without a goal and he delivered properly.

Ronaldo repaid all the support he received in the best possible way by making his 200 4-1 victory over Newcastle in a Premier League game.

United won the crucial three points, but the day belonged to the Portuguese. Even before the kick-off, the game felt like a testimonial. Fans were dressed in CR7 gear, Ronaldo merchandise was everywhere, # 7 jerseys were in constant demand, and fans kept cheering for their hero from the moment he arrived at Old Trafford.

Newcastle did their best to spoil the party, but this was Ronaldo’s day and nothing was going to change that.

As the tributes continue to come in, here are some of the best so far.

Steve Bruce (Newcastle Manager)

“If there is a real superstar among everyone, then this boy is with what he has achieved. We saw it again today. He is something else. “

“He said his name is Cristiano, that’s all I can say

“Of course, everyone has to introduce themselves when they join the team. Maybe not everyone knew his name, but now they do.

“The atmosphere around the club was electrifying. The backers have really enjoyed the last 10 days since he signed. There was a lot of expectation from the team and him and he delivered.

“He does what he does. He lifts everyone up and brings everyone around the place in such a concentrated manner. He makes demands on himself, which will then also make demands on his teammates and on us. That’s why he did so much in his career and was so disciplined.

“His [Ronaldo’s] Movement was phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal. In the first half he runs, didn’t really get the ball, then the goal was a goalkeeper’s mistake, but only one follows.

“There aren’t four players and they’re all struggling to develop it. He’s the one who says, ‘You know what he’s going to spill this on’ and he types it in.

“His second goal. Shaw gets the ball and he knows there is a chance and he sprints.

“And he didn’t sprint too often today, you can watch him, he didn’t, but he sprinted at the right time.

“It’s a great ball from Shaw, but it’s a great touch the way he takes it away [Isaac] Hayden, and he hits him with his left foot.

“His movement. His awareness of seeing it. That’s what he’s here for “

“He would never disappoint. We all expected him to do well, to score his goal or goals and the performance he did was phenomenal, ”he told Match of the Day.

“To his 36-year-old, his energy, his attitude is an example for any young child who watches. Just watch him week after week. Movement, touch, control, everything about him is first class.

“What Cristiano showed on Saturday is exactly what he can change for this team.

“Manchester United didn’t come as a surprise, but this guy will make a difference. He feels opportunities, he is clinical, he is one step higher.

“He has the charisma to captivate and lift the crowd. The encouragement on Saturday was what is normally offered to opponents such as Liverpool, Manchester City or Chelsea.
