World Cup qualification 2022: Ghana – Zimbabwe will be led by new coaches

The highly anticipated FIFA World Cup qualifying clash between Ghana and Zimbabwe will be led by two new coaches after both teams split from previous coaches.

Zimbabwe announced Zdravko Logarusic’s exit earlier than Ghana after a bad start to World Cup qualifiers, where the team is at the bottom of the list. Under the guidance of Logarusic, Zimbabwe recorded only one win in 14 games and lost eight times.

On Monday, September 13, 2021, the Ghanaian Football Association announced the dismissal of CK Akonnor after a bad start in the World Cup qualification. Ghana took a 1-0 win against Ethiopia, but lost 1-0 to South Africa in Johannesburg. The Black Stars are now 3rd in the group G log.

Akonnor won four times in the ten games he oversees and had a win rate of 40%. Black Stars and Zimbabwe will meet in a double headed ball in October 2022 World Cup qualification.
