Atalanta central defender Berat Djimsiti suffered a broken forearm in Albania’s World Cup qualifier against Hungary and is out for a month.
Sky Sport Italia reports that Djimsiti, who only survived 30 minutes qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, had to drop out due to a broken forearm.
It remains to be seen what type of fracture the Orobici defender suffered, but the broadcaster claims it will be out for at least a month.
The player will be returning to Bergamo in the next few hours, where he will have further checks and will most likely have an operation as soon as possible.
Gian Piero Gasperini recently lost Rafael Toloi, Robin Gosens and Matteo Pessina to injuries and news from Djimsiti is another blow to the Atalanta manager.
Djimsiti has played all games so far this season, having played seven Serie A games and playing both Champions League games in 2021-22.
