Bayer Leverkusen are having a dream season, winning the Bundesliga and reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League and the final of the DFB Pokal. One of the main architects of this, alongside Xabi Alonso, is Florian Wirtz.

However, Fernando Carro, general manager of Bayer Leverkusen, has spoken out about the rumours of the German international's possible departure. In a statement to the German programme 'Sport Studio', he said that the club is "not considering" selling the playmaker in the next transfer window.

"I made a mistake when I said that Florian's price was around 150 million euros. In fact, he has no price tag for us", he continued. He also analysed what his value would be in Spanish football, where there are clauses for his release: "If he was at Real Madrid or Barcelona, we would be talking about 1 or 2 billion euros."

Bayer Leverkusen are making history this season and Florian Wirtz is one of the main people responsible. The other big name is theircoach, Xabi Alonso, who has already assured that he will stay in Germany for another year. The Germans have already done part of the work for next season with the continuity of the Spanish coach.
