CANTONA V ARSENAL (03/20/1996)
Eric scored a free kick against the Gunners at that very end of the 1993/94 season, but it’s even better for our money. After a cross from young Phil Neville was headed cleanly by Tony Adams, “the King” headed the ball chest down and volleyed over the bar to keep the Reds in contact with Newcastle at the top of the table.
BECKHAM – BARCELONA (09/16/1998)
Beckham was known for his brilliant free kicks and his successful set pieces against Spurs and Greece (for England) were particularly memorable examples. But probably the archetypal moment when United and Barcelona played in the group stage of our Champions League season 1998/99 came in the middle of the 3-3 thriller that United and Barcelona offered.
