Blanc reveals his “regrets” at joining Manchester United in 2001 from Inter Milan

Laurent Blanc has revealed what he “regrets” about joining Manchester United in 2001.

The 55-year-old was crowned 97 times by France between 1989 and 2000. In 1998 he won the World Championship and in 2000 the European Championship.

Blanc had stints like Barcelona and Marseille before moving to Manchester United.

Man Utd already sign Haaland and Rice! Impressive!

Sir Alex Ferguson tried several times to sign the defense attorney but got his husband in 2001 when he was 35 years old.

White spent two years at Man united. He played for them 75 times and retired from professional football after the Red Devils won the Premier League title in 2002–03.

The former France and PSG boss is now the manager of Qatar-based Al-Rayyan team. He told the Spanish outlet Panenka that he regrets not coming to Man Utd sooner:

“I was 36 when I first arrived in Manchester and I had a more than completed career, but the funny thing is that Sir Alex Ferguson called me when I arrived in Barcelona. He asked me to sign with United but I couldn’t leave, I had already signed with Barça.

“Five years later, he came back for me and won me over. He told me, “I want you to work with more for at least a year. I have very young defense attorneys, like the Neville brothers, Rio Ferdinand, West Brown … and you have a lot of experience. It was incredible and now I regret not going to England earlier. “

Elsewhere, Nigel Winterburn has suggested that Man Utd need to “improve the dirty side of their game”:

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has more than just Cristiano Ronaldo to save the team from bad performances. You also have individual players like Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood. You don’t connect to just one player.

“They are a little sluggish when they lose the ball and make it too easy for the opponent. That’s what a manager has to convey to a team and Manchester United has to improve the dirty side of their game. It will be interesting to see if Ole can get this group of players to push this forward.

“Ole knows that people say that if he doesn’t win every game he doesn’t have enough experience and that another coach would, but we don’t necessarily know that. Winning the league is no longer a matter of course as it used to be under Sir Alex.
