Dele Alli and Gareth Bale are among Newcastle United’s January transfer targets, according to reports from Spain.
It doesn’t take a lot of investigative journalism to predict that Newcastle – after it is finally taken over by a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium – is likely to be spending a lot in January and next summer.
And it seems that a few players with Tottenham connections could be on the club’s shortlist.
Spanish Outlet Sport claim Newcastle is interested in Alli, although the report doesn’t go into much more detail about the Spurs midfielder.
Alli has been a regular feature this season before dropping out of the starting XI after some disappointing performances in their recent win over Aston Villa – could that mean he’s open to an exit?
Meanwhile, Newcastle are believed to be interested in Bale, who was on loan at Tottenham last season and will not have a contract with Real Madrid next summer.
According to Sport, Real could accept an offer on the order of € 30m for Bale in January – whether Newcastle will be willing to pay that much remains to be seen.
