Newcastle United manager Bruce is training amid the impending exit

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce started training on Tuesday but is expected to be relieved of his duties this week ahead of the Super Sunday game against Tottenham at St James’ Park.

Bruce, who first places partner Amanda Staveley on Monday, trained alongside his assistant coach Graeme Jones on Tuesday morning, though his future was unclear.

Staveley had planned to meet with Bruce and the players last Friday after PCP’s Capital Partners takeover of the club was complete, but both managers and players were free for the international break due to the training schedule.

Staveley, who is the managing director of PCP Capital Partners and a director on Newcastle’s board of directors, is back in the North East after spending the weekend at her London home.
