The Premier League, like many other European leagues, returns this weekend after a two-week hiatus to allow the internationals.
After seven entertaining weeks, the league goes into the eighth day of play with a total of ten games.
What does the discipline record look like before the weekend?
Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse will be serving his first three-game ban in all competitions after being released on Gameweek-7 at Chelsea.
The Saints captain will suspend his team’s next two Premier League games and EFL Cup meeting with Chelsea before he is available again for week 10.
Two players are one yellow card removed from suspension because they have already collected four cards.
- Emmanuel Dennis – Watford
- Oliver Skip – Tottenham
Some also walk on a tightrope after receiving three yellow cards. They are;
- Abdoulaye Doucoure
- Paul Pogba
- Joel Veltman
- Josh Brownhill
Any player who receives five bookings in their team’s first 19 Premier League games will be banned from one game in the same competition. Yellow cards will not be carried over to the EFL Cup or FA Cup.
Players who receive 10 yellow cards in Premier League games up to and including their team’s 32nd game will be banned from the competition for two games.
