Hearts of Oak communications director Opare Addo said his side are ready to face Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club in the first leg of the CAF Champions League play-offs.
In this preliminary round, the Phobians will face one of the most consistent teams in the CAF Champions League of recent times at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Ghanaian giants set up the game after beating Guinean club CI Kamsar with a 2-0 win at Accra Sports Stadium last month.
Hearts of Oak last played in the group stage of the CAF Champions League in 2006 and will hope to move up to the money zone.
In an interview with Aben FM in Koforidua, Opare Addo announced that his team has stepped up training and is confident that the players are ready for the task ahead.
“Everything is going well for us and we will continue to intensify our training in order to be ready to fight for the WAC and to put a smile on the face of every Ghanaian”
“We are working towards the win and we really hope for the players and on Sunday the win will definitely be ours,” he said.
Hearts of Oak will host the WAC at the Accra Sports Stadium at 3pm.
