The new Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is returning to the Stadio Olimpico for the first time as an opponent this weekend, but should be warmly welcomed by the Lazio supporters.
The tactician waived a contract extension just days after apparently agreeing to stay at Biancocelesti’s bank.
He replaced Antonio Conte at San Siro and had a strong start to the Serie A season.
Saturday will be the first time he will face Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, having represented the club first as a striker and then as a coach for so many years.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Inzaghi is largely greeted with warmth by Lazio fans who blamed President Claudio Lotito for the split.
Inzaghi hopes to go under Curva Nord, where the Ultras are stationed, to greet them before kick-off.
The 45-year-old played 196 competitive games for Lazio Rome and scored 55 goals.
As her coach, he won the Coppa Italia and two editions of the Italian Supercup.
