Newcastle, Leeds take part in races to sign Ross Barkley

Newcastle United and Leeds United could reportedly argue over the January transfer window for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley.

Burnley FC were reportedly the first club to target the 27-year-old midfielder, who has so far been limited to a substitute in the English premier league this season.

According to 90min, The Magpies and The Whites have now joined the Clarets in pursuit of the Englishman, with the London outfit reportedly ready to loan him out at Aston Villa after his final season.

Barkley made 24 appearances for Dean Smith’s side, scoring three goals and providing an assist as the club finished 11th in the Premier League.

Barkley has scored 11 goals and 11 assists in 89 games for Chelsea since joining Everton in 2018.
