Liverpool took a massive 5-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford yesterday and the result put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under tremendous pressure.
The Norwegian has struggled to get the most out of his team this season despite receiving significant support during the summer transfer window and recent results have fueled further speculation about his future at Old Trafford.
Some parts of Manchester United’s fan base are already calling for his sacking and it remains to be seen whether the club hierarchy is ready to part with the Norwegian and introduce an upgrade in the coming weeks.
A club of Manchester United’s format are expected to battle for the Premier League title, but they are currently eight points behind the leaders.
According to the bookies, Brendan Rodgers, Antonio Conte and Zinedine Zidane are some of the front runners replacing Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
Rodgers has done an excellent job since his acquisition in Leicester and the Foxes have been extremely competitive under his management. The former Liverpool manager also helped them win the FA Cup.
Antonio Conte is currently unemployed after leaving his post at Inter Milan. The Italian helped them win the championship last season. Conte has won the Premier League with Chelsea in the past and would be an upgrade for Solskjaer.
The situation is similar with Zidane, who decided to leave Real Madrid at the end of last season. The Frenchman has won several championship titles and Champions League trophies during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
