Romano reveals who was the first choice in the Spurs manager hunt

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Antonio Conte has always been Tottenham Hotspur’s main target when looking for a new coach.

In an exclusive conversation with CaughtOffside, Romano explained why Fabio Paratici, Managing Director of Tottenham, wanted the former Chelsea coach from the start.

He said: “I have no doubts, Antonio Conte. It was always Antonio Conte.

“The relationship is great, they have won the title three times in a row with Juventus here in Italy, but they also have the same mentality.

“I’ve known both of them for a long time and I can tell you that Antonio Conte only lives with football 24 hours a day. There is family and then there is also football. “

Romano later elaborated part of the story between himself and Paratici in his interview, revealing that the current Tottenham director would still be in Milan at 1 a.m. to work on player deals and ask about players, what made him in Romanos Augen portrayed someone far more complete than just an elite director.
