The Fiorentina star spoke to Ronaldo after Serbia beat Portugal earlier this month.
Dusan Vlahovic has established himself as one of the most exciting young strikers in Europe. At the age of 21 he already caught the interest of some of the biggest clubs abroad.
The Fiorentina striker secured a World Cup spot with Serbia earlier this month as they sent Portugal to the playoffs. In a new interview, Vlahovic revealed his conversation with Cristiano Ronaldo after the game.
“I went to him and at that moment he was understandably very nervous and angry.” Vlahovic told the Serbian outlet Telegraph.
“The only thing he said to me was more or less known that the gate in Belgrade should have been allowed, that maybe this would reverse everything and that was it in general. I wished him the best of luck in the playoffs and said they would get through because they have one of the best players in the world.
Portugal are among the top candidates to reach the World Cup via the playoffs. However, Ronaldo and his teammates will have to fight strong teams like Italy, Poland and Sweden to secure their qualifications.
As always, Ronaldo will be the key to Portugal’s potential success. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is in great shape this season. Despite the difficulties of Man United, he has always delivered convincing performances for the Red Devils. On Tuesday, he broke the impasse in Man United’s 2-0 win over Villarreal, marking another brilliant performance in the Champions League.
