Arsenal give an official injury and fitness update ahead of Newcastle United on Thursday night

On Thursday evening, before the game on Saturday, Arsenal gave an official update on the injury and fitness situation at their club.

Arsenal face Newcastle United in the Emirates, the game starts at 12.30 p.m.

The Gunners confirm that two players will definitely not be available, with Sead Kolasinac and Granit Xhaka both excluded.

Arsenal then declared: “All other players in the men’s first team squad are currently fit and available for selection.”

So Mikel Arteta appears to have an almost complete squad to choose from against Newcastle United.

“Here’s our latest team news ahead of Saturday’s Newcastle United game.

Sead Kolasinac

Left ankle. Sead sustained a serious injury to his left ankle during the national team period for Bosnia and Herzegovina in November.

Sead is making good progress in the early stages of his rehabilitation, with the current goal of being back in full training in January.

Granite Xhaka

Right knee. Granit continues to make good progress in his recovery from a medial knee ligament injury sustained on Sept. 26.

Granit has pushed his recovery to running outdoors with an aim to be back in full training in December.

All other players in the men’s first team are currently fit and available for selection.

As part of the Premier League protocol, all members of our first-team squad and support staff will continue to be regularly tested for COVID-19.
