Everton’s poor Premier League run of form continued on Monday night, when they were thrashed 6-0 by Chelsea.

Cole Palmer scored four goals, which included a hat-trick inside the first 29 minutes, as the home side ran riot at Stamford Bridge. The defeat leaves Sean Dyche’s side two points above the drop zone.

Everton’s record in the capital has been good this season, well, before the calamity of a performance put in on Monday evening.

Disgraceful. Disastrous. Blame who you want; the board, Moshiri, the manager, but the players took to the field. I must add, against a poor Chelsea team that previously has not shown a glimpse of resilience when pressured.

So, where do Everton go from here? The answer to that is for the players to find. They must repay the unwavering support from those who travelled to west London on Monday; show some fight at the least.

At this point, I would try to squeeze out a positive from the performance. However, praise is earned, and the players do not deserve an ounce of it. We look like a team heading for relegation, not one who is still above the dropzone despite two-point deductions.
