Tottenham confirm new Nottingham Forest fixture date and kick-off time in late change

Tottenham Hotspur's scheduled Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest at the start of April has been brought forward by one day due to scheduled train strikes on the date of the original fixture.

Spurs were due to host Forest on Monday, April 8 (8pm KO), but the match will now be staged on Sunday, April 7. A new kick-off time of 6pm has been agreed.

This last-minute change is likely to cause disruption for many supporters who had plans to attend the game on the Monday and will now have to rearrange their schedules in order to be present.

A 24-hour strike affecting London Underground services will occur on April 8, the original fixture date, in protest over long-running disputes regarding pay and conditions. Regular rail services are also expected to cause disruption this day, with the following lines involved: Greater Anglia, c2c, GTR Great Northern Thameslink, Southeastern, Southern/Gatwick Express, South Western Railway main line and depot drivers, and SWR Island Line.

Sending a message to supporters regarding this unwanted alteration to Tottenham's Premier League calendar, a Spurs statement read: «This decision has been taken on the recommendation of an emergency Safety Advisory Group (SAG) meeting — chaired by Haringey Council and including representatives from the Club, emergency services, transport partners and the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust — and in agreement with the Premier League, on the basis that only one of the six stations that serve our stadium will be running normally on April 8.

»All tickets will remain valid for the new date — we shall shortly be contacting all ticket holders to outline options if they are no longer able to attend.
