Klopp apologises after latest derby defeat

Liverpool said virtually goodbye to the Premier League on Wednesday. They did so in arguably their most painful game to lose, the Merseyside Derby against Everton at the home of the 'Toffees'.

After the defeat, Jurgen Klopp's first and last at Goodison Park in 15 games, the German manager apologised to his fans in the press room.

"There is nothing good at all. I'm very disappointed, frustrated obviously. We were not good enough. I'm very sorry for the people," Klopp lamented.

"I'm very sorry, obviously. People often talked to me about my great record in derbies. I really apologise for that, it was unnecessary but it happened. We played the game Everton wanted. They scored 2 goals from set pieces. The first one we cleared three times, but in the end we put it on a silver platter," he added.

Klopp, though, wants to end his great spell at Liverpool in the best possible way: "West Ham are probably waiting now, rubbing their hands together and hoping we'll be in bad shape, but I'll do everything I can to make sure we're much more ourselves than we were on Wednesday."
