CSKA Sofia coach praises “humble” Mourinho

CSKA Sofia’s coach Stojcho Mladenov praises Roma coach Jose Mourinho for being “still a humble person” ahead of the UEFA Europa Conference League game.

The group stage opening game begins on Thursday at the Stadio Olimpico at 8:00 p.m. UK time (7:00 p.m. GMT).

They belong to the same group as Bodo / Glimt and Zorya Luhansk.

“It’s difficult for us because we are missing a lot of players, but we really want to implement our ideas on the pitch,” said the coach at his press conference.

While the Giallorossi are expected to switch squads compared to their Serie A performances, CSKA Sofia will be forced to make changes of their own.

“We have a lot of problems to solve. I will try to guess the Roma line-up based on their last games. I know that CSKA Sofia played Roma in the Europa League last season, but I didn’t see those games because they changed coach and it’s a completely different team.

Paulo Fonseca led the Roma to the Europa League semi-finals last season but only lost to Manchester United.

He has been replaced by Mourinho, who has been criticized by so many for being arrogant or stealing the limelight and even calling himself a Special One, but Mladenov doesn’t see the Portuguese coach that way at all.

“Mourinho is one of the best tacticians in the world and Roma among the best European teams. Mourinho really impresses me because despite all his successes, he’s still a humble person. There is great respect between us and that will never change. “
