Creamfields announces new arena as £2m 'revolutionary' changes made

Creamfields has announced a raft of major changes for this year’s festival.

Originating from the 1990s Cream club in Liverpool city centre, the dance festival began on the old Speke airfield before moving to Daresbury in Cheshire. It will return again this August bank holiday weekend.

Amongst the line-up this year are Liverpool-acts Camelphat and Girls Don’t Sync. There will also be performances from legendary DJs Calvin Harris and Martin Garrix.

The biggest difference festival goers should notice this year is a series of improvements to the site with £2m invested. Creamfields have said these will "revolutionise" key areas of the festival site, enhancing accessibility, sustainability, and amenities, while also introducing upgrades to essential services across the grounds.

Below is a selection of improvements made to the festival. Many have been implemented to counteract the effects of bad weather.

Indoor Main Stage

Creamfields will have a new 30,000 capacity Indoor Main Stage, which has been designed to dramatically increase coverage in case of inclement weather.

Walkway Access

There will be five miles of new walkways from South Car Parks to Campsite village plus, Gold, Silver, Cream, and Blue Campsites, ensuring easier access for campers. Additional trackways across the site to improve access is being installed too.

Enhanced Amenities

A ‘Food and Drink Village’ within the event arena will be introduced. This will provide seating and shelter, as well as a sheltered chillout area with seating located inside the Campsite village. The expanded food offerings will include budget friendly meal deals and menus to accommodate
