Manchester United have been told why two of their top manager candidates will not take their “headache” of Thierry Henry.
One of the reasons why United held on to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for so long that they had no alternative. And it stays that way now. Not only are you looking for a new boss, you are also trying to fill the gap with an interim manager.
No search has had much success so far. An official approach for PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino was repulsed by the French club.
And while Pochettino may be interested but unavailable, his co-target Zinedine Zidane seems disinterested despite being currently unemployed.
Arsenal legend Henry has explained why the Red Devils need to turn their attention elsewhere.
“I don’t know if you can get it [Pochettino], “He said CBS Sports. “When you coach a team like Paris Saint-Germain, you want to see it.
“But even when you go to Man United, you almost get a different kind of headache trying to figure out a way to make it up because that’s exactly what he’s trying to do with Paris Saint-Germain.
“Yes, they win, but the game isn’t as smooth as people would expect. I don’t think he’ll go in person. “

Other plans for Zidane
Henry continued, “Zidane is going to United? I don’t think he cares now.
“Why that? Because in the back of my mind I think he might be waiting for the national team job. I think he has that in the back of his head.
“So I’m more likely to see it even though I don’t think Pochettino will go but if Pochettino goes the PSG job will be free for Zidane.”
Zidane earned his chance for any position in world football with his Real Madrid résumé. So United needs him a lot more than he needs her.
