Chelsea have received a boost as their main defender and Danish international Andreas Christensen have turned down a move to Spanish club Barcelona.
This is what the popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says, who revealed that Chelsea defender Christensen had turned down the chance to join FC Barcelona as a free agent in the following summer window.
The Danish international became a draw for his extension dilemma at Chelsea as his current deal with the Blues ends this summer.
If he does not renew his contract, he has the option of leaving Stamford Bridge for free and joining any club he wishes to join.
Chelsea are keen to keep the Danish defender at Stamford Bridge, having previously offered him a new deal, but the two sides have been unable to reach an agreement.
However, there is evidence that both sides are already in talks on a new term in office and an announcement will be released once they reach an agreement.
Christensen, along with Antonio Rüdiger, has helped strengthen the blues defenses this season and it would be a heavy blow to the blues to see him go.
