One classless Manchester United gesture is Erik ten Hag's new biggest concern for keeping his job

Once Erik ten Hag had turned the air blue lambasting his Manchester United players for nearly throwing away the FA Cup, the Dutchman should have singled out one player for what he did at full-time.

While Harry Maguire went up in a lot of people's estimations with his empathetic commiserations towards the Coventry City players, Antony showed arguably his true colours as he chose to mock the Championship club instead. But why?

The Coventry squad showed more passion and desire over the 120 minutes plus shootout defeat than United have arguably shown in the entirety of the season. Antony's cupping ear gesture was thankfully not copied by his teammates who chose to show a bit more humility in their celebrations - but it did highlight a growing problem at Old Trafford.

There are certain players, Antony being one of them, who will have seen that result as an achievement on Sunday. In any other circumstances it would have been, but to capitulate in that manner was shameful.

This is not an argument for the 'celebration police' to shut down any form of pleasure from the result, but Antony had no right to be as obnoxious towards the opponents considering how he and his teammates played. Choosing to cup your ears towards the opposition suggests you feel you have silenced them and proven them wrong but in actuality, United accomplished the bare minimum.

It is startling just how far United's standards have dropped this season if players like Antony feel the need to celebrate in such a manner. It was a glaring example of his ego which is a worry moving forwards.
