Real Madrid’s Japanese sensation Takefusa Kubo is aiming for Olympic glory this summer to kickstart his career after a disappointing 2020/21 loan to Villarreal and later Getafe.
Kubo, 20, had a breakthrough season on loan in Mallorca Los Blancos In 2019/20 he scored four goals and provided four assists during this time The Pirates, even 125 attempts, the fifth most in La Liga this season, with Lionel Messi of course sweeping the board for that particular metric (263).
Dubbed the “Japanese Messi”, anyone who watched Kubo at Visit Mallorca Estadi knew that he was a player who had all the attributes to live up to his nickname. bandaged ankles, despite the club’s potential relegation.

Given his promotion to La Liga, Kubo was sent to Unai Emerys Villarreal last summer in hopes that he would continue his rapid rise to notoriety. However, he failed in the first half of the campaign and was subsequently recalled to the capital in January.
Emerys Yellow submarine went on to win the Europa League while Kubo stayed local for his second away game Los Blancos, joined Getafe from south Madrid despite again struggling to make a tangible impression, starting just eight games as Deep blue only prevents the descent.
Kubo’s career now appears to be in flux after a tepid campaign outside Real Madrid and he will no doubt be keeping an eye on Olympic glory – in his native Japan – to restart his career and attract new head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s attention with the Japanese Exciting Star in hopes of emulating Messi – who won gold in 2008 – and taking first place in the tournament this summer.
“I’m going to the Olympics with the intention of winning,” said Kubo.
