Manchester United were beaten by Young Boys in stoppage time in their first Champions League game of the season.
But the game depended on Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s sacking in the first half, with the Young Boys counting their man advantage, back on par, and ultimately sealing a comeback win when Jesse Lingard accidentally won Jordan Siebatcheu a win in the 95. Minute.
It was particularly disappointing for United as everything had started so well …
It just had to be, right! ?
Cristiano Ronaldo gives Man Utd the lead at Young Boys! ️
Three goals in two appearances. A fairytale return to the Red Devils so far! pic.twitter.com/NpbHZOySKU

Why did it take so long? @Cristiano takes 13 minutes to score on his return to the Champions League @ManUtd.

Do you understand how ridiculously crazy this passport from Bruno Fernandes is to find Cristiano Ronaldo? pic.twitter.com/D9NWOGfspY

Cristiano Ronaldo scored Messi’s UCL Open Play goals with just 22 minutes played last season, I know my goat.

Cristiano Ronaldo. The greatest thing there is. The greatest there was. The greatest there will ever be.

From then on, however, things went downhill quickly – Wan Bissaka’s red card, followed by an equalizer and that terrible late mistake from Lingard.
That inevitably led to some poking fun at Lingard – who just got his place back on the United squad …

Imo, Wan-Bissaka was our worst player this season.

No. Wan-Bissaka didn’t have to get involved like that pic.twitter.com/NABxJQepFz

We’ll qualify from that group, Wan-Bissaka’s red card changed the game, but Ole’s substitutions were terrible. #mufc

It turned out to be a terrible idea and it absolutely didn’t work?

Moumi Ngamaleu completed more take-ons (7), made more tackles (5), and had more shots (4) than any other player on the pitch against Man Utd.
And he equalized. pic.twitter.com/oIYfKFCwXh

Feeling wins nothing in sport. Jesse Lingard is not good enough for United. Period. If you want to win, you mustn’t let emotions decide.

There was some support for Lingard, however – with messages of support that helped make up for the unnecessary negativity about his mistake.
Cheer up brother, mistakes happen and plenty of time to turn things around! @JesseLingard
